These devices include a 50-volt load supply voltage and -500 milliamps output current and are recommended for high-end switching applications where logic and load are grounded separately. These 8-channel source drivers are used to connect between low-level logic and high-current loads. Typical loads include relays, solenoids, lights, steppers and/or servo motors, print hammers, and LEDs.

All devices are available in 5-volt logic systems—TTL, Schottky TTL, DTL, and 5-volt CMOS. The device packages are electrically interchangeable, withstand a maximum output shut-off voltage of 50 volts, and can operate at voltages as low as 5 volts. All devices in the series integrate an input current-limiting resistor and an output transient suppression diode activated by an effective high input.
