The 125MBd Versatile Link HFBR-0507 series is the most cost-effective fiber optic solution for data transmission over 100 meters of 125MBd, including a 650nm LED transmitter HFBR-15x7 and a PIN pre-discharge receiver HFBR-25x6 that can be paired with low-cost plastic or quartz fiber. The 1mm diameter plastic fiber provides the lowest cost solution for distances up to 25 meters. With a slight additional cost, the lower attenuation of quartz fiber enables data transmission over longer distances, and these components are used on high-speed data links at a more competitive cost, regardless of the common problems of copper solutions.

The HFBR-15x7 transmitter is designed with a low-cost plastic package, high-power 650nm LED, which can efficiently couple power to 1mm diameter POF plastic fiber and 200μm HCS hard-clad quartz fiber. With the recommended drive current, LEDs can operate at speeds from 1 to 125MBd, HFBR-25x6 is a high bandwidth analog receiver with PIN photodiode and internal transimpedance amplifier, application circuits are recommended for operation through 125MBd, 0 to 25 meters for POF plastic fibers and 0 to 100 meters for 200μm HCS fibers for full data links, and a variety of other extensive digital circuits can be combined with HFBR-0507 series for performance and cost optimization at higher or lower data rates.
