Aggressive LM25061 hot-swappable controllers provide voltage to the power supply in intelligently controlled circuit cards to insert and remove real-time system backplanes or other "hot" power loads. The LM25061 provides inrush current control to limit system voltage drops and transients. The current limit and power consumption are programmable through an external series N-channel MOSFET, ensuring operation in the Safe Operating Area (SOA). The power supply normal output indicates when the output voltage exceeds a programmable threshold. Depending on the input voltage level, the hysteresis is programmable, as well as as initial insertion delay time and fault detection time. The LM25061-1 latches after fault detection, while LM25061-2 automatically restarts in a fixed duty cycle. The LM25061 is available in a 10-pin MSOP package.
