illustrate
The LM94 hardware monitoring two-wire digital interface is compatible with SMBus 2.0. Using ΣΔADC, LM94 measures four remote diodes connected to the transistor, its own die, and the 16-supply voltage temperature. The LM94 features new TruTherm technology, supporting processors with thermal diode measurement accuracy in submicron processes.
To set fan speed, the LM94 has two PWM outputs, each controlling six temperature zones. Fan control algorithms can be based on a lookup table, PI (proportional/integer) control loop, or a combination of both. The LM94 includes a digital filter that can be smoothly invoked, better controlling fan speed, and acoustic noise at the minimum temperature reading. The LM94 has 4 speed measurement inputs to measure fan speed. All measurement limits and status registers are also included.
After LM94 was established, the previous motherboard server managed ASIC functions like LM93. It also adds support for dynamic VCCP monitoring, measurement, and control of VRD10/11^ PROCHOT. It is designed as a dual-processor Xeon-class motherboard display with minimal external components.
