The LT1110 is a versatile micropower DC-to-DC converter. The device requires only three external components to provide a fixed 5V or 12V output. The very low supply voltage is as low as 1.0V, allowing the main power supply to be used in a single cell LT1110 in an application. The auxiliary gain module on the chip can be used as a low-cell detector or as a linear post-regulator. 70kHz oscillators can use surface mount inductors and capacitors in many applications. With a quiescent current of only 300μA, current consumption must be kept to a minimum ideal device for remote control or battery-powered applications. The device can be easily configured as a step-up or buck converter, although for most buck applications or input sources greater than 3V, the LT1111 is recommended. Switching current limit, user-adjustable, by adding an external resistor. Reverse supply safe, non-destructive level unique reverse battery protection circuit limits reverse current voltage up to 1.6V.
