description

LT^®The 3010 is a high voltage, micropower low dropout linear regulator. The device is capable of delivering 50mA output current and a dropout voltage of 300mV. Designed for use in battery-powered or high voltage systems, the LT3010's low quiescent current (30μA in operation and 1μA in shutdown) makes it an ideal choice. Quiescent current is also well controlled under dropout conditions.

Other features of the LT3010 include the ability to operate with very small output capacitors. These regulators are stable with only 1μF capacitors on the output, whereas most older devices require 10μF to 100μF capacitors. Small ceramic capacitors can be used without the need to increase ESR as is common with other regulators. Internal protection circuitry includes reverse battery protection, current limit, thermal limit, and reverse current protection.

The device provides a fixed 5V output voltage and can be used as an adjustable device with a 1.275V reference. The LT3010 regulator is available in an 8-lead MSOP package with exposed pads designed for enhanced heat handling.
