MFRC523 is a highly integrated read/writer that enables contactless communication at 13.56 MHz. MFRC523 card reader supports ISO/IEC 14443 A/MIFARE mode.

The MFRC523's internal transmitter can drive read/write antennas designed to communicate with ISO/IEC 14443 A/MIFARE cards and transmit transponders without the need for additional active circuitry. The receiver module provides a powerful and efficient demodulation and decoding circuit for ISO/IEC 14443A/MIFARE compliant cards and transmit transponder signals. The digital module manages the full ISO/IEC 14443 A framing and error detection (parity and CRC) functions.

Communication standards that support all ISO/IEC 14443 A and ISO/IEC 14443 B protocol layers:
