The TPS7A3501 is a positive voltage, low noise
(3.8µVRMS) power filter that provides a 1A load suitable for quiet power solutions. Power filters such as the TPS7A3501 provide efficient voltage regulation (low insertion loss) on the input and output terminals, as well as power supply rejection. This device is ideal for noise filters targeting 3.3V, 2.5V, and 1.8V supplies up to 1A.
Input to output voltage regulation is also user-programmable from 200mV to 500mV with a single external resistor. Without resistors, the TPS7A3501 provides 330mV input-to-output voltage regulation. The device is stable when operated with 10μF input and output ceramic capacitors and a 10nF noise-dampening ceramic capacitor.
The TPS7A3501 is fully rated for operation over a wide temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. The device is available in a low thermal resistance 2mm × 2mm SON-6 package. Unlike passive filters, the TPS7A3501 provides overtemperature protection and current protection against itself and surrounding circuitry.
