The SN65HVD09 is a 9-channel RS-422/RS-485 transceiver suitable for industrial applications. It offers improved switching performance, small package, high ESD protection. Precise skew limits ensure that transmission delay times, not only from channel to channel, but also from device to device, are closely skewed to each other and closely match the budget associated with the high-speed parallel data bus.

The patented thermally enhanced use of an ultra-thin compact outline package (TSSOP) allows operation over the full industrial temperature range. The TSSOP package provides very small board area requirements while reducing package height to 1 mm. This provides more board area and allows components to be mounted to both sides of low-profile, space-constrained applications such as miniaturized hard disk drives such as printed circuit board applications.
