The first member of TI's family of general-purpose operational amplifiers to the new bipolar metal-oxide semiconductor is the TLC07x. The idea in the Bipolar Metal-Oxide Semiconductor Family is simple: to provide a BiFET upgrade path for users who are moving from dual-power away single-power systems and demanding higher AC and DC performance. With performance scores ranging from 4.5 V to 16 V in commercial (0°C to 70°C) and extended industrial temperature ranges (-40°C to 125°C), bipolar metal-oxide semiconductors are suitable for a wide range of audio, automotive, industrial, and instrumentation applications. New features like the familiar dysfunctional zero pin, PowerPAD™ package and shutdown mode like MSOP enable higher levels of performance in a variety of applications.

Developed in TI's patented LBC3 BiCMOS process, the new bipolar metal-oxide semiconductor amplifier combines a very high input impedance low-noise CMOS front end with a high drive bipolar output stage, thus enabling the best performance characteristics of both worlds.
