The TAS5601 is a 20-watt (per channel) high-efficiency, stereo digital amplifier used to drive 4 single-ended speakers, 2 bridged speakers, or a combination of single and bridged power stage loads. The TAS5601 can drive impedance speakers down to 4Ω. High efficiency, "90 into 8 Ω load % TAS5601, eliminates the need for external heat sinks.

A simple interface with PWM for digital audio processors is shown. TAS5601 is adequate protection against faults with short-circuit protection and thermal protection, as well as over- and under-voltage protection. Faults are reported to the processor to prevent damage to the device in the event of an overload.
