The TPS4000x is a low-voltage, non-isolated synchronous buck regulator controller. These controllers drive N-channel MOSFETs for the main buck switch and N-channel MOSFETs for synchronous rectifier switches, enabling very efficient power conversion. In addition, the device controls the main switch to turn off the delayed rectifier conduction and the rectifier water to the main switch to turn on in this line of thought to reduce diode losses with TI's proprietary predictive gate drive ™ technology for synchronous rectifiers (including conduction and recovery). In these losses are significantly reduced, increasing efficiency. For a given converter power stage, smaller FETs, or heat sinks, can be used, which can be reduced or even eliminated.
