The TPS4000x is a low-voltage, non-isolated synchronous buck regulator controller. These controllers drive an N-channel MOSFET with a primary buck switch and an N-channel MOSFET with a synchronous rectifier switch, enabling very efficient power conversion. In addition, the device controls the main switch to turn off the delay rectifier conduction and the water to the rectifier to turn on the main switch in this line of thinking to reduce diode losses with TI's synchronous rectifier (including conduction and recovery) proprietary predictive gate drive ™ technology. These losses are significantly reduced, increasing efficiency. For a given converter power stage, smaller FETs, or heat sinks, can be used to reduce or even eliminate them.
