The TPS40200 is a flexible non-synchronous controller with a built-in 200 mA P-channel FET driver. The circuit operates with up to 52 volts, has a power-down function, turns off the drive current, and once the external FET is fully started. This feature extends the flexibility of the device, allowing the power to operate excessive input voltage without fading to 52 five. The circuit features voltage-mode feedback and feed-forward input voltage compensation that responds instantaneously to changes in input voltage. The integral 700 mV reference is trimmed to 2%, providing the means to precisely control low voltages. The TPS40200 is an 8-pin SOIC that supports many of the functions of more complex controllers.
