The TPS6109x device provides a power solution that supports products that require a supply current of 1A: either a single-cell Li-Ion or Li-Polymer or two alkaline, NiCd or NiMH batteries that require a supply current of 1 or more A: The converter generates a regulated output voltage, or is trimmed to an external resistor divider or fixed inside the chip. It provides high-efficiency power conversion and is capable of delivering output currents up to 0.5 V at 5 V with supply voltages as low as 1.8 V for implementation boost converters based on fixed-frequency, pulse-width modulation (PWM) controllers using synchronous rectifiers for maximum benefit. The switching connections of the boost switch and rectifier are internally possible to provide the lowest leakage inductance and the best EMI performance.
