The LM4890 is an audio power amplifier designed primarily for demanding applications in mobile phones and other portable communications device applications. It is capable of delivering 1 watt of continuous power for 8 BTL load distortion is less than 1% from a 5V_{direct current}Power supply (THD + N).

Boomer audio power amplifiers are designed to provide high quality output power with a small number of external components. The LM4890 does not require output coupling capacitors or starting capacitors, making it ideal for mobile phones and other low voltage applications where minimal power consumption is a major requirement.

The LM4890 features a low-power shutdown mode enabled by a low drive logic shutdown pin. In addition, the LM4890 has an internal thermal shutdown protection mechanism.
