description

The LTC™1383 is an ultralow power 2-driver/2-receiver RS232 transceiver operating from a single 5V supply. The charge pump requires only four 0.1μF capacitors to save space. The transceiver's supply current (ICC) is offloaded by only 220μA from the driver output.

The LTC1383 is fully compatible with all data rates and overvoltage RS-232 specifications. The transceiver can operate up to 120kbaud into a 2500pF, 3KΩ load. Two driver outputs and receiver inputs, which can be forced up to 25V without damage, are able to withstand multiple ± 10kV ESD shocks.
