® The LT 1080/LT1081 are the only dual RS232 driver/receiver with charge pump to guarantee absolutely no latch-up. These optimize the real-world requirements of power consumption and ruggedness between CMOS levels between device interfaces and provide a realistic balance. The fully protected driver output is overloaded and shorted to ± 30V. Unlike CMOS, the LT1080/LT1081 do not load signal lines when they are "off" or powered off. The receiver and RS232 output are high impedance state input. Advanced output stages can drive highly capacitive loads at higher speeds for unusually durable utility service electronic planning.

For the LT1130A family datasheet that requires 5 drivers and a package of 5 receivers with charge pumps. Versions of the LT1080/LT1081, LT1180A and LT1181A are also available using only 0.1μF capacitors. Linear Technology's RS232 chips are available in standard surface mount packages
