description

LTC®The 488 and LTC499 are low power differential bus/line receivers designed for multipoint data transfer standard RS485 applications with extended common-mode range (12V to -7V). They are also RS422 compliant.

Compared to its bipolar counterpart, the CMOS design offers significant energy savings without sacrificing robustness against overload or ESD damage.

The receiver has a three-state output, and the receiver output maintains high impedance over the entire common-mode range.

The receiver has a fail-safe feature that ensures a high output state when the input is left open.

Both AC and DC specifications are guaranteed over a supply voltage range of 4.75V to 5.25V.
