The LM4941 is a fully differential audio power amplifier designed primarily for demanding applications in mobile phones and other portable communication devices. It is capable of delivering a 5V DC power distortion (THD+N) to an 8Ω load with less than 1% continuous average power of 1.25 watts. The LM4941 does not require an output coupling capacitor or a starter capacitor, making it ideal for use in mobile phones and other small applications where the lowest printed circuit board (PCB) space is a major requirement.

The LM4941 also features a proprietary internal circuitry that suppresses RF signal coupling to the chip. This is important because some types of RF signals (such as GSM) can be coupled to the audio amplifier in such a way that part of the signal is heard through the speaker. The RF rejection circuitry in the LM4941 makes it ideal for couple amplifiers where powerful RF signals generated by antennas or mobile phones or other portable electronic devices may emit sound.

Other features include a low-power shutdown mode, internal overheat shutdown protection, and advanced POP and click circuitry.
