LTC1321/LTC1322/LTC1335 low power CMOS bidirectional transceivers with two reconfigurable interface ports each. Each person can be configured as two single-ended ports, two RS485 differential ports, or one RS485 differential port and one single-ended port. The LTC1321/LTC1322 are available with RS232 or EIA562 compliant single-ended outputs, the LTC1335 with EIA562 compatible outputs, and include an output enable pin to allow the receive logic level output tri-state.

The RS232/EIA562 transceiver operates at 120kbaud and is fully EIA/TIA-562 compliant. The RS485 transceiver operates 10Mbaud and RS485 and RS422 specifications are fully compliant. All interface drivers are short-circuit protected and thermal shutdown protected. An enable pin allows the RS485 driver output to be forced into a high impedance, which is held even when the output is forced beyond the rail or powered off. Two driver outputs and receiver inputs ± 10kV ESD protection. A loopback mode connected driver outputs a receiver input for diagnostic self-test.
