LMH0387 3 Gbps HD/SD SDI configuration I/O adaptive cable equalizer/cable driver provides a single-chip interface, BNC header. The device can be configured as a cable driver for data transmitted over a coaxial cable via a coaxial cable or in output mode, equalizer, input mode for receiving data. The same I/O pins for the input and output functions of the device give the flexibility of the system design to connect to the input or output of the device using a single BNC.
LMH0387 chip designers provide flexibility in system design and faster time-to-market. The device operates at data transfer rates ranging from 125 Mbps to 2.97 Gbps (DC to 2.97 Gbps while driving cable) and supports SMPTE 424M, SMPTE 292M, SMPTE 344M, SMPTE 259M and more. The return loss network is integrated into the device, so no external components are required to comply with the SMPTE return loss specification.
In input mode, LMH0387 chip features including power-saving sleep mode, programmable output common-mode voltage and swing, cable length display, start-up amplitude optimization, input signal detection, and an SPI interface. In output mode, the LMH0387 chip's features include SMPTE 424M/292M and SMPTE 259M respecting two selectable conversion rates, controlling the yield drop of the drive power supply.
The device is a 7× 7 mm 48-pin laminated thin-film chip-scale package (TCSP).
