The LMP8358 is a national LMP high precision amplifier series of high precision programmable gain instrumentation amplifiers. The gain can be programmed to 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 or 1000 via an SPI-compatible serial interface or via a parallel interface. Alternatively, the gain can be set to any value, using two external resistors. The LMP8358 uses patented technology to measure and continuously correct its input offset voltage, eliminating offset drift over time and the effects of temperature and 1/f noise. Its ground-based remote sensing CMOS input features high CMRR and low input bias current. It is capable of sensing a common-mode range extension below 100mV of the negative supply voltage to a 1.4V differential input voltage below the positive supply, making it an ideal solution for ground-referenced sensors, bridge interfaces to supply reference sensors, and any other applications that require accuracy and long-term stability. In addition, the LMP8358 includes fault detection circuitry to detect open and short inputs and deteriorating connected signal sources. For many applications, other features that make the LMP8358 a versatile solution are its rail-to-rail output, low input voltage noise, and high gain-bandwidth product.
