LTC®Ideal for low input voltage and high efficiency dual switching regulators, the 1702 contains two complete, independent switching regulators, each driving an external N-channel MOSFET in a voltage-based feedback synchronous step-down fashion. The LTC1702 operates at 550kHz using fixed frequency true pulse-width modulation (PWM) switching, minimizing external component size, cost, and load transient performance. When the output load decreases, this synchronous buck structure automatically enters intermittent operation and then into Burst Mode®Burst operation to ensure maximum efficiency over a wide load current range.
The LTC1702 features an internal reference trimmed to 0.5% to enable converter output voltage regulation better than 1%, an open-drain logic output to indicate whether the output voltage of either channel has risen to within 5% of the final output voltage, and an optional latch FAULT to protect the load if the output voltage rises above 15% of the expected voltage. Each channel can be individually gated; When both channels are disabled simultaneously, the LTC1702 shuts down and the supply current drops below 100μA.
