LM95172EWG is an integrated digital output temperature sensor with a Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) and MICROWIRE™ compatible interface in a 10-pin Cerpack high-temperature ceramic package. It features a very linear sigma-delta analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with high accuracy, fast conversion rates, and very low output noise. With operating temperatures as low as -40°C and optimized accuracy from 120°C to 200°C, it is ideal for use in high-temperature applications.

The over-temperature alarm output (^ OVERTEMP) says that when the die temperature exceeds the programmed T HIGH limit. The user-set T LOW limit creates a trigger point that is a lag when the ambient temperature is close to the temperature stabilization.

LM95172EWG can be programmed from 13-bit (0.0625°C per LSB), 16-bit (0.0078125°C per LSB) resolution. Fastest conversion time at 35 ms, LM95172EWG temperature set at 13-bit resolution output. The resolution may be changed to 14-, 15-, or 16 digits. When in 13-, 14-, or 15-bit resolution mode, the temperature is switched after each conversion is completed with the lowest significant bit of the register at 16 bits. This bit can be monitored to confirm that the conversion is complete.
