Video Y/C driver and chroma silent summer

description

MAX11503 is a summer Y/C and chroma silent low power video amplifier. The device accepts S-video or Y/C inputs and summarizes them into a composite CVBS signal that can be connected directly to the luminance (Y) and chromaticity (C) signals of a TV monitor. MAX11503 driver 2 terminates the 75Ω video coaxial cable.

MAX11503 features include chroma mute, power saving, SAG correction. Chroma chroma buffer mute disabled. If the device uses a camera app that combines Y and C signals, the chroma is muted and can be used in low-light situations. This will remove all chromaticity including popping, resulting in downstream composite video decoders where the brightness of the video signal is only interpreted as, thus improving image quality. SAG correction allows the use of small output capacitors in AC-coupled output applications.

MAX11503 operates from a single 2.7V to 5.25V supply, is specified over the extended -40°C to +85°C temperature range, and is available in a small 8-pin μMAX® package.
