The MAX11508/MAX11509 integrate a three-channel video filter, high-definition (HD), progressive scan (PS), standard-definition (SD), and by-circuit (BP) video, including an output buffer with +6 dB gain, making it ideal for digital video disc (DVD) players, set-top box (STB) receivers, high-definition television (HDTV), digital video recorders (DVRs), and similar equipment.

The MAX11508/MAX11509 video inputs feature transparent clamps that are compatible with AC- and DC-coupled input signals and allow direct coupling of the DAC outputs, eliminating the need for bulky coupling capacitors. Filter bandwidth selection HD, PS and SD. BP mode that provides 1080p and high bandwidth RGB signals. Selectable input bias circuit 2 filter channels provide simple bipolar connections to video signals such as C, Pb and Pr.

The MAX11508 filter provides -3dB bandwidth of 9MHz (SD), 16MHz (PS), 33MHz (HD), and 60MHz bandwidth (BP). The MAX11509 filter provides -3dB bandwidths of 10MHz (SD), 17MHz (PS), 34MHz (HD), and 60MHz (BP).

Each channel includes a +6 dB gain that provides 2V into a 150Ω video load_PPThe output buffer of the video signal. The buffer drives either AC or DC coupled loads and guarantees a blanking level after a 1V or below 1V back-end matching resistor. A shutdown mode is provided that reduces the current of the device by 1μA (typical).

The MAX11508 provides a flat passband and the MAX11509 function ramps up 0.8 dB to compensate for DAC attenuation. The MAX11508/MAX11509 operate from a 5V supply and operate over the commercial (0°C to +85°C) temperature range. Some are available in a 14-pin TSSOP package.
