The ISL76671 is a low-cost, optovoltage silicon optical sensor that combines a photodiode array, a nonlinear current amplifier and a micropower operational amplifier on a monolithic IC. The photodiode array has a peak sensitivity similar to the human eye, at 550nm and across the wavelength range of 400nm to 600nm, rejecting ultraviolet and infrared light. The input brightness range is from 0.01 lux to 100 lux. Improves the integrated nonlinear current amplifier and converts it to a photodiode signal in square root output format to extend dynamic range while maintaining excellent sensitivity in dimly lit conditions. Because of this, a portion is ideal for measuring incident daylight, when installed behind a heavily used smoker behind a surrounding display or mirror. The device consumes minimal power consumption. A dark current compensation circuit minimizes the effect of temperature-dependent leakage current in the absence of light, improving light sensitivity at low illumination levels. Output gain is optimized for relatively low values that are recommended automotive EMI limits internal and external bias resistors. The built-in 1μA gives the op amp ISL76671 the advantage of driving the output voltage into heavier loads and driving the ADC directly. The ISL76671 is housed in an ultra-small 2mmx2.1mm ODFN plastic surface mount package. Operation is rated from -40°C to +105°C when secondary is 100 per AECQ.
