The DS28E04-100 is a 4096-bit 1-Wire®EEPROM 7-address input chip. The 64-bit device ID number mapped directly to the address input allows the host system to easily identify the physical location or function association of multiple devices in a DS28E04-100 1-Wire network environment. The 4096-bit EEPROM array is configured as a 16-page, 32-byte, 32-byte register to perform write operations. EEPROM memory pages can be individually write-protected or EPROM emulation mode, where the median bit can only be changed from 1 to 0 state. In addition to memory, the DS28E04-100 has two general-purpose I/O ports that can be used to input or generate horizontal and/or pulsed outputs. Activity registration also captures monitoring activities for port state changes. The DS28E04-100 communicates over a single-contact 1-Wire bus. Communication follows the standard Maxim's 1-Wire protocol.
