MAX1494
description
The MAX1492/MAX1494 low-power, 3.5- and 4.5-digital, analog-to-digital converter (ADC) integrated liquid crystal display (LCD) drivers operate from a single 2.7V to 5.25V supply. They include an internal reference, a high-precision on-chip oscillator, and a triplexed LCD driver. Internal charge pump generation of negative supplies requires an integrated input buffer for single-supply operation. The ADC is configured for an input range of ±2V or ±200mV and outputs its conversion to a liquid crystal and/or microcontroller (μC). ΜC COMMUNICATION IS FACILITATED VIA AN SPI-/QSPI™™-/microwire-compatible® serial interface. The MAX1492 is a 3.5-bit (±1999-count) device and the MAX1494 is a 4.5-bit (±19,999-count) device.
The MAX1492/MAX1494 do not require external precision integrated capacitors, autozero capacitors, crystal oscillators, charge pumps, or other circuitry required for dual-slope ADCs commonly used in panel instrumentation circuits.
The devices also feature on-chip buffers, differential signals, and reference inputs that allow direct interfacing with high impedance signal sources. In addition, they use continuous internal offset calibration and provide 50Hz synchronous rejection of > 100dB and 60Hz power supply noise. Other features include data hold, peak hold, overrange and underrange detection, low battery monitor.
The MAX1494 is available in the MAX1494 32-pin, 7mm x 7mm LQFP package and 28-pin SSOP and 28-pin PDIP packages, the MAX1492. All devices in this family operate over the 0°C to +70°C commercial temperature range.
