description

This is a full-featured LT3497 boost DC/DC converter specifically designed to drive up to 12 white LEDs (6 white LED series per converter) from Li-Ion batteries.Light-emitting diodes connected in series provide the same current to produce uniform brightness, eliminating ballast resistors and factory calibration.

Two independent converters are capable of driving asymmetric LED strings.The two LED strings for accurate LED dimming and shutdown can also be controlled independently.The LT3497 has a unique high-side current that enables the portion to function as a "one-line current source; One side can be returned to the ground, making a simple single-lead connection.Traditional LED drivers use ground resistors to sense current, which requires a 2-wire connection of the LED string.

The 2.3 MHz switching frequency allows the use of small inductors and capacitors.Few external components require dual diodes and Schottky diodes: Open drive protection is included in the millimeter ×mm package.With this high level of integration, the LT3497 provides high efficiency dual white LED drive solutions in minimal space.
