LT^®The 3517 is a current-mode DC/DC converter with an internal 1.5A, 45V switch designed to drive LEDs. The LT3517 acts as an LED driver and operates in boost, buck and buck-boost modes. It combines a conventional voltage loop and a unique current loop to act as a constant current source or constant voltage source. Programmable switching frequency allows external components to be optimized for efficiency or component size requirements. Enables the LT3517's switching frequency to be synchronized to an external clock signal. A 100mV sense resistor can be used to set the LED current externally. The external PWM input provides LED dimming capability up to 5000:1. The CTRL pin provides an additional 10:1 dimming ratio.

The LT3517 is available in small footprint 16-lead QFN (4mm × 4mm) and 16-lead TSSOP packages. The LT3517 provides a complete solution for constant voltage and constant current applications.
