  • description

    LTC®The 3208 is a highly integrated multi-display LED controller. The device contains a 1A high efficiency, low noise charge pump to power the primary, secondary, RGB, camera, and auxiliary LED displays. The LTC3208 requires only a small ceramic capacitor and a current setting resistor to form a complete LED supply and current controller.

    The maximum display current is set by a single external resistor. The current of each display is controlled by a precise internal current source. All displays are dimmed and turned on/off via the I2C serial interface. The primary and secondary displays offer 256 brightness levels, and the RGB and camera displays offer 16 brightness levels. Four auxiliary current sources can be independently assigned to displays controlled by CAM, SUB, MAIN, or AUX DACs via the I2C port.

    The LTC3208 charge pump optimizes efficiency based on the voltage across the LED current source. The device powers up and enters 1x mode and automatically switches to boost mode when any enabled LED current source begins to enter a dropout state. The first drop switches the device to 1.5x mode, and the subsequent drop switches the LTC3208 to 2x mode. The device is available in a small 5mm × 5mm 32-pin QFN package.
