The ISL98003 has all the functions required to digitize analog YPbPr video from HDTV tuners, set-top boxes, SD and HD DVDs, as well as RGB graphic signals from personal computers and workstations. The fourth generation analog system is designed to deliver 8-bit performance and a maximum slew rate of 165MSPS supporting up to UXGA resolutions at 60Hz. The programmable input bandwidth of the front end ensures clear, low-noise images at all resolutions.

To speed up and simplify mode detection, the ISL98003 integrates an advanced set of measurement tools that characterize the video signal and timing, offloading the host microcontroller. Automatic Black Level Compensation (ABLC™) eliminates part-on-part offset variations, ensuring perfect black level representation in every application.

The ISL98003's digital PLL generates a pixel clock for the HSYNC SOG (Sync in Green) signal from an analog signal source. The pixel clock output frequency ranges from 10MHz to 165MHz with sample clock jitter to 250ps peak-to-peak.
