The XC6216/XE6216 series are high precision, low noise, positive voltage regulator chips. The series consists of a voltage reference, an error amplifier, a current limiter, a thermal shutdown circuit, a phase compensation circuit, and a drive transistor.
With laser trimming technology, the output voltage can be selected in 100mV steps between 2.0V and 12.0V (XC6216B/XE6216B Series). In addition, the output voltage can be set between 2.0V and 23.0V by external resistors (XC6216C/XE6216C Series). The output regulated capacitors (CLs) of this series can also be used with ceramic capacitors with low ESR.
This series has built-in overcurrent protection circuit and thermal shutdown circuit. These two protection circuits will start operating when the output current reaches the current limit level or the junction temperature reaches the temperature limit level.
The CE function allows the output to be turned off and the chip to enter standby mode, which can greatly reduce power consumption.
