The A4405 is a carPower management ICs, which uses a 5.45 V high-frequency constant on-time preregulator to power two internal 5 V linear regulators and a 3.3 V linear DMOS driver. Designed to power CAN and microprocessor power in high-temperature environments, the A4405 is ideal for under-the-hood applications. Efficient operation can be achieved by using a buck preregulator to effectively reduce the input voltage before powering the linear regulator; This reduces power loss and increases the overall efficiency of the regulator.

The switching regulator is designed to operate at a nominal switching frequency of 2.2 MHz. The high switching frequency enables customers to select low-value inductors and ceramic capacitors while avoiding electromagnetic interference (EMI) in the AM band.

Protection features include undervoltage lockout and thermal shutdown. The V5P output is protected from short-to-battery applications. In the event of a load short, all regulators initiate overcurrent protection.

The A4405 also features a power-on reset function with adjustable delay for microprocessor output. The A4405 is available in a low profile (max.: 1.2 mm) 20-pin TSSOP package with exposed heat shield plate (suffix: LP). The package is lead (Pb) free and features 100% matte tin leadframe plating.
