A8515Is a multi-output white LED (WLED)drivefor LCD backlighting in consumer and industrial displays. It combines a current-mode boost converter with an internal power switch and two current converters. The boost converter can drive up to 24 LEDs: 12 LEDs in 1 string at 120 mA. LED switches can be paralleled to achieve higher LED currents up to 240 mA. The A8515 operates from a single supply of 5 to 40 V.

PWM light and dark control is performed via an external PWM input signal. The LED intensity is controlled using the PWM light and dark pin by using pulse width modulation.

Regulation voltages as low as 720 mV across LED current sources reduce power dissipation and improve efficiency.

The A8515 is available in a 16-pin TSSOP package (suffix LP) with an exposed heat sink. The package is lead-free and 100% matte tin plating.
