The AD5623R/AD5643R/AD5663R are all part of the nanoDAC family, which are low-power, dual-channel, 12-/14-/16-bit buffered voltage-output
digital-to-analog converters (DACs) that operate from a single 2.7 V to 5.5 V supply and are designed to be monotonic.
Each of these devices has an on-chip reference. The AD5623R-3/AD5643R-3/AD5663R-3 has a built-in 1.25 V, 5 ppm/°C reference with a
full-scale output range of 2.5 V; The AD5623R-5/AD5643R-5/AD5663R-5 has a built-in 2.5 V, 5 ppm/°C reference with a full-scale output range of 5 V. On power-up, the on-chip reference is turned off, allowing an external reference to be used. All devices can operate from a single 2.7 V to 5.5 V supply. Performing a write operation on the DAC will open the internal reference.
Each of these devices has a built-in power-on reset circuit that ensures that the DAC output is powered up to 0 V and remains at that level until a valid write operation is performed. It also features a power-saving feature that reduces power consumption to 480 nA at 5 V in power-down mode and a software-selectable output load.
In normal operating mode, the device features low power consumption, making it ideal for portable battery-powered devices.
The AD5623R/AD5643R/AD5663R feature a versatile 3-wire serial interface capable of operating at clock rates up to 50 MHz and are compatible with standard SPI, QSPI®™, MICROWIRE™, and DSP interface standards. It has a built-in on-chip precision output amplifier that enables rail-to-rail output swings.
