The AD7245A/AD7248A is a complete 12-bit, voltage-output digital-to-analog converter that integrates an output amplifier and a Zener reference on a single CMOS chip. Full rated performance is achieved without external adjustments by the user.
Both devices are microprocessor-compatible and feature high-speed data latches and dual-buffer interface logic. AD7245A accepts 12-bit parallel data, and the data is loaded into the input latch at the rising edge of the CS or WR. AD7248A has an 8-bit wide data bus where data is loaded into the input latch with two write operations. Both devices transmit data from the input latch to the DAC latch via an asynchronous LDAC signal and update the analog output. There is also a CLR signal on the AD7245A DAC latch, which can achieve power-on reset and other characteristics.
5 V on-chip embedded Zener diodes provide the low-noise, temperature-compensated reference required for DACs. When powered from a single supply, it can provide two output ranges: 0 V to +5 V and 0 V to +10 V; When powered by dual supplies, an additional ±5 V output range is provided in addition to the above two output ranges. The output amplifier is capable of generating +10 V to ground (GND) voltage on a 2 kΩ load.
The AD7245A/AD7248A are manufactured using a linear-compatible CMOS (LC2MOS) process, an advanced hybrid process technology that combines sophisticated bipolar circuitry with low-power CMOS logic. AD7245A available in 0.3" wide, 24-pin small DIP, SOIC, and 28-pin surface-mount packages. AD7248A available in 0.3" wide, 20-pin small DIP, SOIC, and 20-pin surface-mount packages.
