The AD7549 is a single-chip, dual-channel, 12-bit current output DAC. It is available in 0.3" wide, 20-pin DIP and 20-pin surface-mount packages. Both DACs offer four-quadrant multiplication capabilities, each with a separate reference voltage input and feedback resistor. The single-chip structure ensures excellent thermal tracking and gain error tracking characteristics between the two DACs.
Each DAC in the AD7549 loads data in three 4-bit half-byte formats. The control logic is designed for easy interface with processors. Input and DAC register loading are done using address lines A0, A1, A2 and /CS, /WR lines. A logical high level on the CLR input will zero out all registers. The /UPD input can be used to update both DACs at the same time.
