The AD7524 is essentially an 8-bit DAC with an input latch with a load cycle similar to a "write" cycle for a random access memory. It is manufactured using an advanced CMOS thin-film process that provides 1/8 LSB accuracy with a typical power consumption of less than 10 mW.
The latest improvements no longer require Schottky diode protection and guarantee TTL compatibility when using a +5 power supply. The loading speed has also been improved and is compatible with most microprocessors.
The AD7524 operates from a +5V to +15V supply and can interface directly with most microprocessor buses or output ports.
The AD7524's excellent multiplication characteristics (two- or quadrant) make it ideal for many microprocessor-controlled gain settings and signal control applications.
