Active current sensor for maximum accuracy

VAC offers a variety of current sensors for DC and AC measurements in PCB and panel mount versions.

The principle of the closed-loop current sensor invented by VAC is to have a magnetic probe (that is, a fluxgate probe) as a zero-field detector, which is characterized by the maximum accuracy of current detection. The electronics of VAC current sensors are almost entirely concentrated in dedicated ICs.
All VAC sensors detect high continuous and peak currents in a compact package size. Our current sensors are used in many different customer applications, the most typical of which are:

VAC current sensors offer certain advantages over commonly used closed-loop sensors for zero-field sensing using Hall-effect devices. Their outstanding features are:
- Rated current from 6 A to 1000 A and peak current up to +2500 A in a compact design
- + 5 V power supply type with voltage output. Selectable internal or external reference voltage
- Suitable for ±12 V, ±15 V or ±24 V supplies with current output
- Excellent measurement accuracy, minimal DC offset and extremely low hysteresis
- Negligible output noise
