The AD580 is a three-pin, low-cost, temperature-compensated bandgap reference that provides a fixed 2.5 V output from a 4.5 V to 30 V input. The unique combination of advanced circuit design and laser-wafer-tuned thin film resistors results in the AD580 with an initial tolerance of ±0.4%, temperature stability of better than 10 ppm/°C, and long-term stability of better than 250 μV. In addition, the maximum quiescent current as low as 1.5 mA is a clear advantage over conventional Zener technology.
The AD580 is recommended as a stable reference for all 8-, 10-, and 12-bit DACs that require an external reference source. In addition, the device's wide input range allows it to be powered from a 5 V logic supply, making it ideal for digital panel meters or any application with a single logic supply.
The AD580J/K/L/M is rated for an operating temperature range of 0°C to +70°C, and the AD580S/T/U has an extended temperature range of -55°C to +125°C.
