The AD7242/AD7244 are fast, complete, dual-channel, 12/14-bit output digital-to-analog converters with a built-in 12/14-bit DAC, 3 V embedded Zener reference, DAC output amplifier, and high-speed serial interface logic.
Both DACs feature a serial interface, which minimizes the number of pins and allows for a small package size. Thanks to the standard control signals, it can interface with most DSP processors and microcontrollers. Each DAC has a separate LDAC input, so updates from both DACs can be controlled asynchronously.
The AD7242/AD7244 operate from a ±5 V supply and provide a ±3 V analog output range. With REF OUT/REF IN (external/internal reference) capabilities, these DACs can be driven by either a 3 V on-chip reference or an external reference.
The AD7242/AD7244 are manufactured using the Linearly Compatible CMOS (LC2MOS) process, an advanced hybrid process technology that combines sophisticated bipolar circuitry with low-power CMOS logic. Both devices are available in two packages: a 0.3-inch-wide, 24-pin plastic or sealed dual in-line package (DIP) and a 28-pin, small plastic integrated package (SOIC). The AD7242 and AD7244 feature the same pinout, making it easy to upgrade from 12-bit to 14-bit performance.
