The A1171 IC is an ultra-sensitive Hall-effect switch with a latched digital output that is driven by a single pole or full pole magnet. It operates at low supply currents and voltages, making it ideal for battery-powered electronics. Low operating supply voltage (1.65 to 3.5 V) and a unique clock algorithm help reduce average operating energy consumption. For example, with a power supply of 2.75 V, the energy consumption is less than 15 μW.
Unlike traditional Hall-effect switches, the A1171 allows users to configure how the device is excited. By default, the device will use sufficient magnetic field strength to activate the output switch. With an external selector pin, the excitation setting can be operated in unipolar mode and switched only on the north or south pole magnetic field, not on both poles at the same time. Also, when an effective magnetic field is missing, the output of the A1171 can be configured to be turned off or on. Finally, the A1171 has two push-pull output configurations.
Independently of magnetic poles and minimal power requirements, the A1171 allows the A1171 to easily change reed switches, providing greater reliability and ease of fabrication, reducing signal conditioning requirements.
Stabilizing chopper (dynamic offset cancellation) improves stability and reduces residual offset voltages typically caused by device overmolding, temperature dependence, and thermal stress. The device combines a Hall generator, a small signal amplifier, stable chopper characteristics, latching, and MOSFET outputs on a single silicon.
The A1171 device provides a magnetically optimized solution for most applications. EW type packages (up to 0.40 mm) provide lead-free surface mount solutions. The package is lead-free and the pin frame is NiPdAu plated.
