The Allegro® A1210-A1214 Hall-effect latching is a next-generation replacement for the popular Allegro 317x and 318x latching switch series. The A121x series is produced using BiCMOS technology, and the associated devices have the advantages of fast power-up and low operating noise. Device programming occurs after the package to eliminate bias caused by package stress, ensuring higher switch point accuracy. The unique Hall element geometry and low bias amplifier help reduce noise and reduce residual offset voltages typically caused by device overmolding, temperature spikes, and thermal stress.
The A1210-A1214 Hall-effect locks contain the following components in a single silicon: voltage regulator, Hall voltage generator, small signal amplifier, Schmitt flip-flop, and NMOS output transistor. The integrated voltage regulator allows operation between 3.8 and 24 V. The extended on-board protection circuitry enables an absolute maximum voltage rating of ±30 V, providing superior protection for automotive and industrial motor rectification applications without the need for additional external components. All devices in the series differ in no way except at the level of the magnetic switching points.
The small and refined geometry of the BiCMOS process allows these devices to be available in ultra-small packages. Available package types provide magnetically optimized solutions for most applications. The package LH is a SOT23W miniature low-thickness surface-mount package, while the package UA is a three-pin subminiature SIP for via mounting All packages are lead-free and the pin frames are 100% matte tin plated.
