A1220, A1221, A1222, and A1223Hall-effect sensorsThe IC is an extremely stable and vulnerable device over a wide range of temperatures, especially for operations up to 150°C. Dynamic offset cancellation ensures good performance at high temperatures, reducing residual offset voltages typically caused by device overmolding, temperature dependence, and thermal stress. Each device contains the following components on a single silicon chip: voltage regulator, Hall generator, small signal amplifier, chopper-stabilized feature, Schmitt trigger, and open-collector output with short-circuit protection that draws up to 25 mA. As long as the south pole has enough magnetic field, the output can be turned on. To turn off the output, a North Pole magnetic field of sufficient strength must be provided.

The on-board regulator allows operation from a supply voltage of 3 to 24 V. The advantage of operating at voltages as low as 3 V is that the device can be used in 3-V applications or can be connected in series with additional external resistors to the supply pins for greater protection against high voltage transients.

Both package types provide magnetically optimized packages for most applications. The LH type package is an improved three-pin SOT23W surface mount package, while the UA is a three-pin ultra-small SIP for via mounting. Both packages are lead (Pb) free and feature 100% matte tin leadframe plating.
