A1250Hall-effect sensorsICs are stable, stress-resistant bipolar switches at a wide range of temperatures. The device is the most sensitive Hall-effect device in the Allegro® bipolar switch family, with ring magnet sensing capability. Allegro's patented Dynamic Offset Cancellation technology utilizes stable chopping properties to ensure superior high temperature resistance. This approach reduces the residual offset voltage, which is typically caused by device overmolding, temperature dependence, and thermal stress.

The A1250 includes the following components on a single silicon chip: voltage regulator, Hall generator, small signal amplifier, stable chopper, Schmitt trigger, and open-drain output with short-circuit protection. Advanced BiCMOS wafer fabrication takes advantage of low voltage requirements, component matching, extremely low input offset errors, and small component geometries.

The A1250 Hall-effect bipolar switch turns on when the south pole field strength is sufficient and turns off when the north pole field strength is sufficient. Because there is no output state that defines whether the magnetic field is reduced or removed, to ensure that the device is turned on, Allegro recommends that you use a bipolar magnet and set up a sufficient magnetic field in your application.

The A1250 is specified for ambient operation temperature of L, –40°C to 150°C. Both packages provide a magnetically optimized solution for most applications. All packages are lead-free and the leadframes are 100% matte tin plating.
