Most relay applications require complex system controlmicroprocessor。 These systems require a microprocessor logic supply voltage, power-on reset circuitry, and watchdog functionality. The Allegro® A2550 combines a voltage regulator, watchdog, reset, and three low-side DMOS relay driver outputs. Primarily targeted for automotive applications, the IC provides reliable performance over a wider voltage and temperature range.
Three low-side DMOS drivers can drive inductive loads, such as relay coils. The driver integrates enhanced voltage clamping to withstand automotive load dump pulses up to 48V. The VBB's 40V rating also ensures the ability to withstand harsh automotive environments.
The 5 V linear regulator delivers 40 mA of output current with a 2% error over the operating temperature range. To extend the lifetime of the IC in automotive applications, overcurrent protection is applied to the 5V regulator output and three low-side driver outputs.
The A2550 also includes a power-on reset circuit (NPOR) and an integrated watchdog circuit. Together, they meet the monitoring and reset requirements of the system microprocessor.
The A2550 is available in a 16-pin TSSOP package with an external heatsink (package LP). The package is lead no-lead and the leadframe is plated in 100% matte tin.
