The A3290 and A3291 Hall-effect latches are extremely temperature-stable and stress-resistant sensors that are particularly suitable for operation over an extended temperature range (up to 125°C). Better high-temperature performance is achieved through dynamic offset cancellation, which reduces the residual offset voltage typically caused by overmolding, temperature dependence, and thermal stress in the device package. Both devices are identical except for the magnetic switching points. Both devices are not available for automotive applications.
Both devices include the following components on a single silicon: voltage regulator, Hall generator, small signal amplifier, chopper-stabilized chopper characteristics, Schmidt trigger, and open-circuit collector output with short-circuit protection that can draw up to 25 mA. To turn on the output, a sufficiently strong south pole magnetic field must be provided. To turn off the output, the North Pole magnetic field must be provided with sufficient strength. Board regulators allow operation with supply voltages from 3 to 24 V.
Both package types provide magnetically optimized packages for most applications. The LH package is the SOT23W miniature low-thickness surface-mount package, while the UA package is a three-pin ultra-small SIP for via mounting. Both packages are lead-free and feature 100% matte tin-plated pin frames.
