• Product Introduction

The A3944 is a programmable 6-channel low-end MOSFET pre-driver ideal for automotive applications. Each channel can be controlled via parallel and serial inputs, providing ample gate drive current to allow PWM to control frequencies up to 10 kHz (depending on the MOSFET gate charge).

Each channel can provide independent fault diagnosis for ground short circuit and open circuit when it is "off", and battery short circuit fault diagnosis when it is "powered on". A short circuit in the battery may disable the output until the battery is reset or reprogrammed. Each channel provides independent programming fault thresholds and masking times.

In addition to channel state control, channel fault masking, fault thresholds, and fault timers can also be programmed via an SPI-compatible serial interface. Serial interfaces also provide fault status return information for each channel.

The digital inputs and outputs are compatible with 3.3 and 5 V voltages.

The A3944 is available in a 28-pin TSSOP package (suffix LP) with an exposed thermal panel. The package is lead-free and features a 100% matte tin-plated pinframe.
