The A3944 is a programmable 6-channel low-side MOSFET pre-sessiondrive, ideal for automotive applications. Each channel can be controlled with parallel and serial inputs, providing sufficient gate drive current to allow PWM control of frequencies up to 10 kHz, depending on the MOSFET gate charge.
Each channel provides independent fault diagnosis for short-to-ground and open circuits in the "off state" and short-to-battery fault diagnosis in the "power-on state." A short battery circuit may disable the output until the battery is reset or reprogrammed. Each channel provides independent programmable fault thresholds and occlusion times.
In addition to channel status control, channel fault masking, fault thresholds, and fault timers can be programmed through an SPI-compatible serial interface. The serial interface also provides fault status return information for each channel.
The digital inputs and outputs are compatible with 3.3 and 5 V voltages.
The A3944 is available in a 28-pin TSSOP package with exposed heat shield (suffix LP). The package is lead (Pb) free and features 100% matte tin leadframe plating.
